K.E.E.N.E.’S vocal anthem ‘Missing Point’ is one of their most impressive tracks to date (which has just been released). The haunting track was a departure from their afro house flavours towards a more melodic techno sound, and now a new remix from London’s talented Kiwi brings another flavour to the track entirely. Indulging his love for old skool house and acid, Kiwi’s remix makes good use of those pianos, sampling the chords and creating a ravey feel with the resulting pattern. 303 squelches punctuate. Linn drum machine snares hammer away in all the right places. Rubbery analog bass twangs and throbs, bolstering the piano chord progression. Hi-hats tick incessantly. He uses just a snatch of the vocal to add to the dramatic feel, helping to cook up a very cool, moody rework that should reach a whole new audience.
